12/2 - to Durango!

Long drive to Durango yesterday.

Like 15 hours worth of travel time, once you pound the many fuel stops along with the 12 hrs of moving time.

Needless to say, travelling uphill, against the wind, pulling a trailer, racked with two bikes, is not the most fuel efficient way to travel. But, *whew*, made it. Thanks to TrailSurfer for the hosting!

Oh, did you say "what hill"?

Pretty uneventful day. If you can avoid it, don't drive through western Texas or the New Mexico corridor from Roswell to Clines Corners. Just not pretty.

We're pulling out later and heading over to Fruita, maybe even get in a ride this afternoon, we'll see what Over The Edge says.

Some few pix from the drive though...

If it's sunrise, it must be Sonora...

...I fear Steven King's Langoliers are awaiting me in Sheffield...

...Beware the Road of Insanity...

... OMG, those hills are made of something other than Texas Limestone!

Cheers
